A shrub or small tree of the rain forest. Leaves simple, alternate, with stipules or stipule scars; petiole to 15 mm, channelled above, with the edge of the blade minutely overlapping the edge of the petiole. Petiole slightly topswollen or at least darker towards the top. Margin slightly serrated; base obtuse; tip acuminate/caudate. ± 5 pairs of laterals. Flowerss white. Fruit pinkish red. Not yet recorded from Liberia but found in SW Ivory coast.
