Solanum erianthum. A small tree to 7 m in open places, along roadsides etc., with very soft wood. Leaves simple, alternate, big up to 20 x 10 cm, with dense stellate hairs below. About 10 – 15 pairs of laterals, impressed above; blade surface slightly bullate. Fruit a fleshy, round berry. A related, common weedy shrub from disturbed sites is Solanum torvum; that species has flattened thorns (prickles) on leaves and fruits, and stems and hairs all over the leaf.
