IUCN Red List status: Critically Endangered [1] (updated on 01.02.11)

Liberian Status: None [2]

Geographical Range: The Lugbe River Crab has only been recorded in the Lubge in Nimba County, Liberia [3].

Threats: There is no information on the number of individuals or the population trends of the Lugbe River Crab and so the status of the species is unknown. The suspected small geographical range of the species indicates that it could be highly vulnerable. Mining, quarrying and clearance of rainforest to allow agricultural and residential expansion pose a threat to the Lugbe River Crab and the freshwater habitats on which it depends [3].
