A tree of the drier regions north of Liberia but not yet recorded from Liberia, to 23 m tall and 40 cm Ø. Leaves with 5 – 11 alternate or sub-opposite leaflets. Leaflets with a characteristic “collecting nerve”, running diagonally from the axil of a nerve to the tip of the next nerve. Branches may exude some white latex when broken. Fruit (sub) ellipsoid, 1 – 2 x 1 cm, smooth, orange when ripe, immature fruits may be dark red to purple.
