Notes

Medium sized tree of the Sierra Leone and Liberia rain forests, to 25 m tall and 30 cm Ø, with or without buttresses. Leaves 6 – 9 jugate; leaflets coriaceous, glabrous, oblong-lanceolate, 30 x 10 cm, with 13 or more pairs of laterals, distinct beneath. Midrib impressed above. Flowers red-brown. Fruits ellipsoid, 2.5 x 1.5-2 cm, slightly oblique and laterally compressed, glabrous, dehiscent.
