Small, cauliflorous tree with leathery, frangrant leaves like coconut oil. Leaves simple, alternate, 20 – 27 x 7- 10 cm, a very short petiole, entire margin, rounded – obtuse or acute base but the very base minutely lobed, acute/acuminate tip, and 9 – 13 pairs of laterals, Â± impressed above. Fruits yellow when ripe, smooth, with white spots, less knobbly then I. campanulata, to 10 cm long, on a green stalk.
