Notes

A small, low-branched tree with a wide range, from the high forest to gallery forests and savannas, to 15 tall and 15 cm Ø, characterized by its opposite, pinnate leaves, the leaflets having translucent points. It is best recognized by its big pendant bunches of deep red flowers and sausage-shaped fruits of about 25 – 45 x 8 – 15 cm, hanging from a very long stalk. Slash fibrous, grey-green, darkening through green shades.
