Notes

Shrub or small tree to 10 m high of the northern edge of the forest zone, with sarmentose, drooping branches. Leaves simple, alternate, 8 – 14 x 2.5 – 5 cm, shiny above, with a short petiole of 0.4 – 1.5 cm. Mirib ending in a very short point beyond the margin. About 10 pairs of arched laterals. Slash brown-orange, granular and gritty, bitter, with a smell of green beans. Fruits 2.5 – 3 cm long, with 4 longitudinal ridges, hanging from slender 3.5 cm long stalks. Syn.: Ritchiea duchesnei.
