Small tree in secondary forests, up to 10 m and 30 cm Ø. Leaves very big, ± clustered, up to 150 cm long and 50 cm wide, densely whitish tomentose below; what looks like a petiole is actually the lower part of the blade, the margin decurrent along the midrib. Margin undulate/shallowly lobed (?), with laciniate fringes at the lower edge/petiole.
