Notes

Can grow into a medium sized tree to 18 m tall, of 20 cm Ø, rarely larger; usually much branched, not buttressed; bark grey, slash pink. Leaves rigidly coriaceous. Wood hard and heavy, dark brown. Note the small intrapetiolar stipules pressed against the twig in the axil of the leaf. Basal glands not easily detectable. Syn.: Amanoa strobylacea
