Notes

A common tree along larger rivers and in the coastal savannas with long, slender, spreading branches with two rows of glabrous, rather leathery leaves: distichous; slash with white latex. Tree rarely larger than 25 m and 20 cm diam. In the forest its crown habit resembles Cleistopholis patens. In Ivory Coast A. aubryanum is found, and possibly both species meet in Liberia.
