Fairly large tree to 60 cm Ø, in wet terrain, often with short stilt roots. Bark grey greenish, fairly thin. Slash red-brown, hard, fibrous, with a red exudate. Leaves clustered at the end of the twigs, slightly like Uapaca, but of different size within one cluster, the petioles from short to long; venation lax scalariform. See also PROTA database.
