A typical Uapaca with a very well developed system of stilt roots, a short stem and a deep, well-developed crown. Big tree of river and creek borders, always close to running water. Often a tuft of reddish hairs in the leaf axil. Leaves clustered at end of twigs; venation scalariform.Fruits smooth, egg-shaped. See also PROTA database.
