Small to medium sized tree of dry forests, usually on wet soils. Leaves with the main laterals closely parallel and resin ducts as thin black lines more ascending than the laterals. Laterals joining a sub-marginal nerve. Slash creamy, brittle, with some viscid or yellowish exudate. Fruit ± spherical, about 2.5 cm Ø. Roots are used to chew on and to clean teeth.
