Notes

Can grow into a tall tree of drier forests, rare in the rainforest, to 30 m tall and 100 cm Ø, sometimes with a low-branched crown. Outside of the slash red-brown, gritty, inside pale brown, hard and granular, often contoured, exuding a bright yellow exudate. Leaves sismple, opposite, main laterals not closely parallel; pattern of fine, ascending resin ducts.
