A very common low-branched river side tree in Ivory Coast but also gregarious on rocky hills. Leaves parinnate with 2 – 4 pairs of asymmetric sessile leaflets with finely emarginate tip. New flushes usually red. Fruit a knobbly, globose, corky pod of 4 – 6 cm across, developing deep grooves. See also PROTA database.
