Tree of the wet evergreen forest, to 25 m, smaller as a riparian species. Bark rough with large scales leaving a concentric pattern of ridges; slash orange-yellow to reddish. Leaves pari-pinnate, the leaflets often silvery beneath. Fruits short and fat with prominent, conspicuous transverse ridges. See also PROTA database. Syn.: Anthonotha sassandraensis.
