Tree to 60 cm Ø, associated with creeks and marshes, where it can form small concentrations. Bark similar to the bark of G. preussii. Leaf with persistent, long stipules that have a kidney-shaped base. Petiolules and rachis densely rusty pubescent. Bark very flaky; slash hard and pink. Leaves pari-pinnate, with big stipules with kidney-shaped base; 4 – 7 juga; rachis rusty pubescent. Pods velvety with 2 – 3 ridges. See also PROTA database.
