Notes

A medium-sized tree of the moister forests, rarely large (to 38 m and 120 cm Ø); base with sharp, narrow root ridges that may develop into narrow, concave buttresses; crown dense, rusty brown when seen from below because of the densely brown puberulous underside of the leaves. Slash hard and fibrous, light-medium brown, often slowly exuding a creamy gum. Wavy ripple marks sometimes present. See also PROTA database.
