Notes

Medium-sized understory tree of the rain forest, forming small groups on moist soils, where its regeneration can be abundant; bark smooth and grey. Slash hard, thick, fibrous, reddish brown. Leaves bi-foliolate, sometimes with 2 horny stipels at top of a short petiole; leaflets asymmetric with glandular points in the blade and with a thickened or rolled up tip. Pod smooth, curling up when dry. See also PROTA database.
