Small to medium sized tree found throughout Liberia. Bole straight but forked low, with small buttresses, light foliaged. Bark grey to brown, slightly rough. Slash light brown, compact, fibrous, with the scent of mint. Leaves bipinnate with ± 7 pairs of pinnae, each pinna with 6 – 8 pairs of alternate small leaflets. Leaflets resemble those of Albizia ferruginea but those leaflets are opposite and hairy. Fruit typically cross-shapes on cros-section.
