Shrub or treelet of dry, rocky forests or coastal scrubs; thin bark, easily peelable slash. Leaves simple, opposite, leathery, sometimes 5-nerved at base, the curved nerves curved parallel to the midrib, very prominent below, impressed above; petiole distinct. Fruits ellipsoid. Note: it has been suggested that W. cinnamomoides and W. memecyloides are the same species.
