Epiphyte or mostly riparian forest tree to 18 m, knotty, tortuous stem; in open forest but also in towns and cities; ;branchlets with scaly deciduous bark; often planted. Leaves simple, stipules leaving annular scars; few laterals. Syn.: Ficus vogelii.
