Shrub or small tree strangling its host but also larger tree to 20 m and a dense, rounded crown with aerial roots hanging down from the branches; secondary forests and savannas, sometimes planted in villages as a shade tree; easy to propagate. Leaves simple, stipules leaving annular scars; veins ± parallel to laterals. Syn.: Ficus dekdekana/Ficus iteophylla.
