Whyte 21 (BM, K)
Medium-sized tree to 25 m tall and 40 cm Ø, often with a twisted, fluted stem. Base with thin, sometimes high buttresses. Bark smooth, horizontally striate; slash pale pink, exuding abundant watery latex. Big leaves of 15 – 35 x 6 – 13 cm, with ± 14 pairs of laterals. Petiole short; terminal bud covered by stipules leaving an annular scar when shed. Fruit a very big, globular compound fruit up to 30 cm Ø, containing numerous small, edible seeds.
