Notes

A tree of the northern edges of the closed forest, small to medium-sized, to 25 m high and 60 cm Ø, with a straight, smooth stem with thin rectangular bark flakes. Opposite leaves 8 – 18 x 4.5 – 12 cm, petiole up to 3 cm long. Blade with 7 – 10 pairs of laterals; finer venation indistinct. Fruit woody, pear-shaped, opening with two valves, containing 2 winged seeds. See also PROTA database.
