Notes

Slender tree to 7 m., in evergreen forests, the main branches spreading horizontally, the twigs soon hollow. Leaves simple, opposite, with thick (as if swollen) interpetiolar stipules with colleters at base; petiole distinct, the blade decurrent. Blade elliptic – obovate, 5 – 17 x 1.5 – 5 cm, with 6 – 10 pairs of laterals, acuminate, slightly unequal-sided at base, midrib channeld above; pocket domatia distinct. Fruits small, globose, 10 – 12 mm.
