Notes

Tree to 20 m tall in in drier forest types, most common on hilly sites; twigs glabrous, wider at nodes, green but soon white-corky. Leaves simple, opposite, interpetiolar stipules with collar and awn, about 1 cm long; blade elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, mucronate, 10 – 23 x 3 – 11 cm, with 5 – 10 pairs of laterals and tuft domatia in the axil of laterals; venation transverse scalariform. Fruit ellipsoid, about 2 x 3 cm, containing many seeds.
