Notes

Small tree of the wet evergreen forest and montane forest. Leaves simple, opposite, with inconspicuous interpetiolar stipules of the collar + awn type, soon falling off. Petiole short, blade obovate – elliptic, 9 – 18 cm long, with entire, ciliate margin, acuminate/caudate apex and obtuse/rounded base. Laterals 5-7 pairs, curved, with tuft domatia (but no pits). Fruits about 1 cm across, with a calyx crown.
