Notes
A small tree of the rain forest, to 7 m tall, with paired thorns at the base of the leaf; leaf usually trifoliolate, sometimes with 5 (7) leaflets; the terminal leaflet largest, to 20 cm long; rarely unifoliolate (as in this sample); narrowly winged petiole, short – medium, the wings about 2 mm wide. The laterals (2 – 5) looping onto each other, at some distance from the margin. Finer venation not very distinct (in dry material). Syn.: Citropsis tanakae.
