Tree 18 cm dbh with large spines on bole, of dry forests, especially rocky hills. Bark brown with paler vertical lines, with bitter taste. Slash pale brown with paler vertical lines. Leaves collected from low branch with green rachis. Prickles on young twigs straight, less than 3 mm long; leaflets in 5 – 6 subopposite pairs, very gland-dotty, very thin, up to 12 x 4 cm. Note that the blade margin seems to be entire but actually is finely notched, Tip of the leaflets caudate. In the surface spots are present that are translucent points when held against a light source. Syn.: Fagara leprieurii.
