Notes

Small tree in dry forest and savanna, found south of Nzerekore in Guinea; it is armed with vicious, branched thorns on the stem and single thorns on the twigs; twigs with white lenticels. This seems to be a rare species, tentatively named F. vogelii. F. indica may be a more common species with a very large distribution area across Africa. Its venation is reticulate, its leaf shape more obovate. The shown species differs from F. indica in having the nerves between the laterals more scalariform.
