Notes

Big tree, not yet recorded from Liberia, rare in semi deciduous forests in Ivory Coast, to 30 m tall and 120 cm Ø, with tall, steep buttresses. Slash yellow-orange, thin, brittle and gritty. Leaves 7 – 14 x 2.5 – 5.5 cm, entire, glabrous; leaves simple, alternate, with one pair of ascending basal nerves and 2 – 3 indistinct pairs of laterals; tuft domatia can be present in the axils of the basal laterals. Petiole ± swollen at the top. See also PROTA database.
