Notes

Unbranched or little-branched tree of the rainforest, to 15 m high and 30 cm Ø; slash hot-tasting, gritty. Leaves very long, to 100 cm long, with 12 – 18 pairs of subopposite or alternate, lanceolate, coriaceous, shiny leaflets, asymmetric at base ; petiole thick, triangular. Leaves in dense clusters at the end of very thick twigs, new flushes bright red. Fruits yellow, 3-lobed, to 2 cm long, pointed, tomentose.
