Notes

A small, very variable tree, 8 – 15 (-20) m, in secondary forest, savanna woodland, and high forest; it may reach a diameter of 40 (-60) cm; irregular stem with low butt flares. Leaves with domatiaand with thorns on twigs .Fruits subglobose, “double”, red when ripe. This group of Allophylus species is still full of surprises; the big forest trees, like the one found on the Putu range, may be a not yet recorded species.
