Notes

A treelet to 4 m high; leaves 50 – 120 cm long, with 3 – 6 pairs of leaflets. Petiole 20 – 50 cm long, broadened at its base, ending in a small point. Leaflets broadly elliptic, 7 – 15 x 15 – 40 cm, the upper ones the largest, shyni on both surfaces; 15 – 25 pairs of fairly straight but curved at the end laterals, impressed above, prominent beneath. Flowers with red calyx; fruits deeply 5-lobed, ± 7 cm across, with purplish hairs.
