Notes

Understory tree of rain forest and semi-deciduous forest, to 20 m high and 40 cm Ø; stem twisted, the base often with low adventitious roots or stiltroots; slash deep orange-pinkish to reddish brown; leaves 3 – 5 jugate, 20 – 100 cm long, the leaflets opposite or alternate with slender petiolules and ± 8 pairs of laterals; rachis and petiolules reddish velvety (?); tip of apex a sharp point; leaflet base decurrent. Twigs brown-grey tomentellous. Fruits finely grey hairy outside. See also PROTA database.
