Notes

Big tree characteristic for the semi-deciduous forest, to 30 m and 100 cm Ø; long straight and cylindrical stem with a thickened to fluted base; bark with longitudinal fissures; dense crown with characteristic red-brown leaves. Slash brown with lighter stripes, slowly exuding a milky white latex. Fruits round, tomentose with reddish hairs. See also PROTA database.
