Notes

Cauliflorous, small tree of wet places; white latex. Leaves simple, alternate, with stipules, clustered, normal petiole, margin entire; blade obovate, golden below, with more than 30 pairs of parallel laterals. A closely related but little known species is Englerophyton magalismontana. Synonym: Bequaertiodendron oubanguiense. A little known species is E. magalismontana, possibly synonymous with this species or may be a separate species.
