Notes

Big tree of river sides, with slightly fluted bole and reddish brown flaky bark; slash reddish, fibrous, with copious white latex. The latex, after drying for 24 hours, produces a very tough glue. Big leaves clustered at end of branchlets, long-pointed and decurrent into the petiole of 2 – 5 cm. Leaves simple, elongate, 12 – 32 x 3 – 8 cm, with 12 – 20 pairs of parallel laterals. Big fruits. Slash resembling that of Tieghemella.
