Notes

Medium-sized tree to 25 m high and 60 cm Ø, found along rivers and in wet terrain. Irregular stem without swellings at the base; bark scaly; slash reddish, brittle, with white latex. Leaves very long, up to 45 x 18 cm, nearly sessile, in open rosettes at end of twigs; with numerous pairs of laterals;venation ± scalariform. The tree is characterized by having its flowers and fruits on the stem and the branches. Fruits big, disc-shaped, 18 – 20 x 13 – 15 cm.
