Notes
Tall tree, to 30 m high and 80 cm Ø, with a long, straight stem and slightly fluted at base but no buttresses. Bark reddish brown and scaly with vertical rows of lenticels; slash reddish brown with vague orange and white streaks, fibrous, exuding an abundant white latex. Leaves up to 25 x 8 cm, bunched at end of branchlets, nearly sessile, ± 9 pairs of laterals. Fruits growing on the stem, flattened subglobose, about 15 x 8 cm, hard outside and with a whitish pulp, containing numerous seeds. See also PROTA database. Syn.: Omphalocarpum anocentrum.
