Notes
Shrub or small tree, to 10 m high, in the understory of the rainforest. Young branches rusty pubescent. Stipules persistent, deeply incised with three slips. Leaf symmetric, not with cover of orange hairs like D. chrysoglamys but with dense, short, ginger hairs. Leaf 3-nerved at base, rounded or cordate; margin with fine teeth: the extension of laterals over the margin. Venation open-scalariform; tuft domatia present. Flowers white or pink. Big fruits, yellow when ripe, filled with a gum that at first is yellow but turns red, then black.
