Notes
Tree to 10 m, in permanent swamps, with very big leaves in whorls of 3; tuft domatia present. Slash dark brown and creamy, crumbly. Not to be confused with Schumanniophyton problematicum, a small tree with three very big leaves at the end of a branch; that species has a stout petiole of ± 2 cm and its slash is yellowish, very bitter. Syn.: Rothmannia megalostigma.
